Work as a team of programmers for EV3

Hi,
Does anyone already have experiences how to work as a team of programmers with LEGO MINDSTORMS for EV3?

We are looking for a way to divide the work on various "own blocks" to several people and bring together the pieces into one main project.
This would not be just a one of, but several iterations of improvements,

My testing with import/export so far did not lead to any encouraging results.

BTW: I work on the home edition. If these requires the educ edition, I'd look into licensing it.
