Mindsensors Multiplexer (NXTMMX) multi-tasking-safe?

has anyone experience using the Mindsensors Multiplexer for NXT Motors (NXTMMX) in multi-tasked motor control?

I currently have 3 motors to be controlled by a NXTMMX, independently by 3 different tasks:
- motor #1 is switched on demand triggered by a user interface and/or autonomous motor control tasks
- motor #2 controls the pneumatic pressure pump triggered by a sensor and switches the pressure pump when temporarily necessary (pressure 800-900 hPa)
- motor #3 is controlled depending on internal calculations and requirements and/or sensor states

all events in each task happen randomly from time to time, quickly or slowly and possibly simultaneously, each task mostly independent from others, so all tasks need individual motor access.
Using encoder motors it should be possible to randomly read all encoder values at any time.

Will this work reliably with the given drivers? (with the old RCX-type motor mux MTRMX-Nx it doesn't).
