Temperature sensor and LightSensor in 1 program

Post by nxt1engineer »

Hello
i have a problem.
The winter project, see projects, is going well, now i am creating a program, but it has light sensors (rgb) and the original lego temp-sensor in 1 program.
The temp sensor is programmed in de educational version , and the light sensor in the normal version.
how can a create a program that works white both. or in what software version are both supported.

Thanks Jan

Both the education version and the retail version of the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT software support all RCX sensors as well as all the NXT sensors. You may need to install the legacy blocks.

Of course, in NXC there is no problem at all with using the RCX temperature sensor and the NXT light sensor in the same program.

Someone else with more experience using the EDU/Retail versions of the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT software will have to address your question, then. I think you can get a temperature sensor block - or write your own MyBlock using some of the I2C read blocks available from various sources. I don't know if you can get the color sensor block and add it to the EDU version or not.
