BricxCC anyone?

Post by haydenstudios »

Hey there, I have recently purchased John's book, but I am unable to advance through it because the link to downloading the Bricx Command Center is dead. And on other websites, they just link to that download so that those links don't work either. Does anybody have an install file of it on their computer of the Bricx Command Center that they could upload? If so, then I would be grateful. Please try to upload the latest version possible. Thanks in advance.

Or you could just Google :). There's a great tutorial by our very own doc-helmut on MiBo [viewtopic.php?f=3&t=49].

Please, could you post the links that you say are dead? These seem to work fine for me:

Yeah, that works :P. Do you like the NXC book, haydenstudios? I have it on my Amazon wishlist but I just haven't really needed it. Now that I'm using NXC instead of NXT-G though, I think I need a fairly complete guide to NXC and BricxCC so that I "get" it all. Which reminds me, I still need to write a review on the Extreme NXT book...

@NXTreme: I thought I made myself quite clear that I had already tried that, but apperently not. Cause all of those results in that first link are purple. :P I might also add that the second link there is one of the links that I tried but did not work. It appears that I was not sufficiently clear as to what I have and haven't tried.

@John: That's strange, all of those links were ones that I tried and did not work, but they work now. Before, it took me to sourceforge, but it said: "Oh snap. The page you have requested is not available". I don't understand what's going on, but it's working now. Thanks for the reply.

P.S. I"ve been trying to post this ever since about thirty minutes after john made that post, but it's not been working until now because I just realized that I was starting this post with "@".

@TimPattinson: I'm sure you wouldn't have made that post if I'd been able to post this 30 Minutes after John made his like I intended. Just so you know, I AM NOT one of those people who asks a question on this forum instead of doing a simple google search. I ONLY post a problem here it I've already tried that. So don't get any more funny ideas.

And, I am enjoying John's book.

Can you post some screenshots of the problems in visiting John's links?

No, I can't do that, but I'm not sorry because that means that everything is working fine like I just said(and tried to say 55 hours ago). I tried putting in a url that didn't exist, but the error message was a little different. So, I cannot post a screenshot.

EDIT: Ah, wait a second. Now I know, cause our posts are three minutes apart. ;) That happens to me a lot too, you began writing your post before mine was posted, but you didn't post it until after mine went public. That happens to me as well.

Glad you got it working. We didn't mean to offend by suggesting Google and all that, it just seemed like the thing to suggest. It is weird though that you had problems with stuff not loading for a while, but that's the problem with the "cloud" I guess.

It's alright, I guess I just wasn't necessarily clear on what I had and hadn't tried. And the going 31 hours without being able to post did indeed aggrivate me. So I wouldn't say it was you and Timpattinson alone. No hard feelings. :D
