This set is looking better all the time. Sounds like a few months and its on the market.

Though it has a working drive train, its not powered and we would have to add that(it seems). This brings up a question on how well it will work as a R/c? Thats a big kit for a Lg power function motor to function. Another issue off hand is that geared hup is just a "drop axle" I had hoped to see a planitary reduction(dreamed). The 16z gears are some of weaker gears, though these I am sure are the new ones without those 4 holes that are the week point in the older ones. But the size of those wheels for this to work on anything but flat and level will need reduction right at the drop axle or its going to break the difs.

Well been saving my $ and hope to get this in a few months when its on sale. This is going to be one fantastic kit. I am very happy to see Lego is still into pneumatics too.

After looking at more pics of the hubs the top position will (obviously) clear a gear as large as a 16z. The bottom might clear a 24z so you could use: 16:16, 12:20, or 8:24. I think the 12:20 will get used quite a bit since they are sturdy and a good compromise.

It seems they are using typical universal joints in the drive shafts of this model. And the only reduction is the 20:28 at the differentials. This combined with the very large tires would almost prohibit powering with any motors unless you really can alter the gearing in the hubs.

perhaps it may be possible inside the rim to get another reduction? This would be like adding another drop axle though it would make it taller yet. Still even if it is best as a static model it will look great on my shelf :) Though I am sure the TT guys will find many a use for these new parts. I can not wait to see how this thing is in scale as well, I have my new 60 degree V LPE that may very well fit right in this puppy. This V design is much narrower than the 90 degree that is the norm.

here it is in my grader, i am still short on tubbing( our local hobby store that i normaly get the hoses from closed :( . )

Looks pretty nice from what I see. Are you using Linear Actuator connectors for the front steering knuckles?

stearing is worm and sector and I had to delete front wheel drive to many issues getting power there and having a gear box, LPE wont go backwards so you need a reverse gear so its a High/ low with reverse. But this motor would look sweet in the Unimog just a V4 but that puts out alot more power than a Lg PF by far, just takes a alot of air to run it. more info on this at my http://s979.photobucket.com/home/222doc ... 4QQtppZZ24
