Limit on attachment size

Post by m-goldberg »

I ran into a limit of 256 KB when I tried to attach a 721 KB zip file to a post. Limiting attachments to files as small as 256 KB seems a bit extreme. I had no problem when I attached this same zip file to a post on the nxtasy forums. I request the administrators raise this limit to something like 1 MB if it is possible to do so.

... 1 MB? What about people who want to post .rbt files? (Not a problem for me, of course.)

They can learn to use a compression tool and reduce their size dramatically.

Can't use a compression tool? What kind of computer can't? I think even XP has the ability to "send to zipped folder". If you can run NXT-G, I am pretty sure you're using at least XP, Vista or maybe even Windows 7 or perhaps OSX. Here are some links to get you started:

Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306531
Windows Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... -zip-files
Windows 7: http://www.lockergnome.com/windows/2009 ... windows-7/
OSX: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html ... /8726.html
Linux: http://blog.enrii.com/2007/05/31/zip-a-folder-in-linux/

Most of these are built right into the OS itself, so unless your system administrator (if you have one) has purposely ripped this functionality out, it's there.
