Laser and photoresistor

Post by fuzzball27 »

I have a laser pointer that I have disassembled. It seems simple enough to hook up, just like a small light bulb or LED, and I thought it might be great to have for stationary bots shooting a long, virtual trip line or something along those lines. My only question is will it harm the photoresistor in any way? By the way, I have the standard radio shack photoresistor pack if that makes any difference.

Unless it is a SUPER powerful laser, it shouldn't cause any harm to a photoresister.

I'm all for gun control... that's why I use both hands when shooting ;)

Intriguing localization technique. :)
You've inspired me to make a homemade laser sensor :geek:
I have a laser and an LDR, would the laser hook up like an LED on the light sensor?

hello fuzzball27
you can see some homebrew laser sensor build with a laser pointer embedded into a NXT light sensor
