nxtOSEK: which simple Windows IDE ?

Post by HaWe »

hey,
for nxtOSEK: which simple Windows IDE would you recommend?
(not such a monster like Eclipse, no cygwin Linux emulation, no cmd line)

therefore you need not be surprised:
no user-friendly IDE => no users.

nxtOSEK is not user friendly and is not designed with users in mind. Its design goal was to make an OSEK compliant RTOS, the rest was secondary.

yes, of course I knew about the OSEK development history.
But if nxtOSEK does not claim to be actually used by NXT owners - that's very regrettable because it seems to be very quick and very powerful.
A larger group of users would certainly have taken it (and also the usability of the NXT brick itself) a giant step further - it had been worth while.

Too bad that this great approach thus fizzles into nothing, just because they are putting so little value that interested users find easy access.

It is not untypical with academic research projects. They blossom and then die forgotten, once their creators have moved on to the next project.
