Here's some links for LaTeX, which will hopefully be installed...

(MathJax is used by MathOverflow.com and Math.StackExchange.com)

http://www.mathjax.org/download/
http://www.mathjax.org/resources/docs/? ... ation.html
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &start=240

$f(x)=\frac{x^2}{2}$
$f'(x)=x$

Should display (but smaller, of course):

test:

Code: Select all

[math]{d\over dt}{\partial{T}\over \partial{\dot{\varphi}_j}} - {\partial{}\over \partial{\varphi_j}} (T-V) = 0[/math]

was only a test.
Currently I have no need to use Latex, but sometimes it could make things easier.
