Perhaps the market for NXT specific devices is a lot smaller than the market for general electronics. If the same amount of work goes into both, then mindstorms stuff needs to cost more.

BTW, you converted euro to USD improperly. 11 euros is currently about $13.70 USD, not $9.

Yeah, like the dPressure sensor. They charge $32 for what basically amounts to a small circuit board, a plug, a pressure sensing component, and a couple of capacitors. Buying those parts in bulk, it can't cost them more than ~$10 per sensor, yet they charge 3-times that because not many people buy it.
