I tried to get phpBB working in a non-hosted way as well but I couldn't upload avatars or attachments. SF doesn't allow PHP scripts to write to the file system.

There's no configuration option for it, but we'll just tell people they can't use them. I agree, they're extremely annoying.

Is it possible to remove the sourceforge bar from the top of the forum pages? ... Having to load that on every page seems to slow things up a little... You are right, it seems to be related to the adds... Quickfix is to disable javascript, but then you will have to do BBCode manually... Maybe a Chr...

It would probably be easier to create a standard Lego FW interpreter for something like nxtOSEK or NXOS to get access to the recursion in those firmwares.

I use Netbeans for Lejos programming. It's much less cluttered than Eclipse.

I have not used the generic PIC firmware yet. I have reflashed the AVR many times, though. I've used the reprogramming tool many times on other sensors, such as the motor mux and lineleader.
