Making legos light up at the rythm of the music

Hello there

I've got these legos that are different. They're called LASER PEGS and have this base that makes em sound activate it. So they light up with music, but the problem is that it's just in certain frecuencies. I wanted to put a mic or change the mic so it would only light up to low end frecuencies. That way they can be placed around the DJ and club and light up at the same time in different shapes through out dancing clubs and stuff.

1) am I in the right place to get help?

2) thoughts/feedback on project?
