Are the NXT motor noisy?

I have been watching some NXT videos, and it is seem than motors of NXT kit are a bit noisy.

Could you tell me if NXT motors are noisier than motors of other robot kits?

You mean audibly? They aren't very noisy at all IMO. They are certainly a lot louder than the heavy RCX motors (which you can hardly hear), but I don't think they are any louder than, say, an RC servo.

Cheap camera microphones have a way of distorting volume.

Perhaps you are right, and the noise came from microphone of cameras.
