No clue, but just .zip everything to save space. (Only images, compressed files, and text documents are allowed, AFAIK.)

An admin change the acceptable file extensions:
Admin Control Panel >> Posting >> Manage extension groups

The list is divided into categories and each cat. has several possible extensions. I am not going to list all of them. If you can't upload something because of the extension, just zip it up and it'll work fine.

You do realize you're the one posting weeks after the last reply?

Can we add support for
.7z uploading? It compresses .rbt files unbelievably well (try it), compared to .zip.

7-Zip is great.

Not everyone can use 7zip, so I am not going to add support for it. 7zip is perfectly capable of creating zip archives. Let me worry about the disk space on the forums.

While zip might be widely supported, it is not an open format like 7-zip.
Anyway, I can live with zip, however I would at least expect NXT related file formats like .nxc, .ric and the like, and some general Lego formats like .ldr (LDraw) to be allowed. Those kind of files are usually less than 10 KB is size too.
And isn't the max 3 attachments per post a bit low?
