This year, at Brickworld in Chicago <http://www.brickworld.us/chicago/> we're planning to have a very large sumo event. (the robots are normal sized, the event is super sized)

If there's any way you can bring a robot and join us, please do so.

Prizes will be given out randomly.

That's a nice robot. I should build something like that with treads.

For Brickworld, it would need to have sensors, because this event doesn't allow RC robots. But there's plenty of room in that design.

Nice work.

Maybe the morning coffee hasn't kicked in, but where did you 'pre-register' your sumo bot at on the Brickworld Site ??

I was wondering when someone would ask that question. Sam, if you want to register some robots, just e-mail me. :)

Heres a question, are we allowed to use a robot with two NXTs, six motors, and six sensors as long as we keep it under the 2.2 lbs weight limit?

Awesome, so then, based on your discussion with themindstormman, pre-registering with a robot name, building instructions, and a program makes your robot eligible to compete even with the builder not present at brickworld? Cause I can't just go up to my parents and say:
my mind wrote:Hey mom, dad, can we please at short notice go to brickworld for the 2011 super-sized sumo event? I know that we have already gone on a vacatoin this summer, and we're going on another one, and the economy is not so great right now, and I guess that brother and sister wouldn't be real hip on it either, and I know that it's not realistic to just go up to your parents and randomly ask for something so big, but can we please go? :D
Doesn't sound very good to me, so I won't be there.

I'm not yet sure if we'll be able to handle such building requests, but if you do a good job of documenting it, we will consider it.

As for your request to your parents, you really need to work on the wording. :)
