I like the idea, but perhaps with a blog format, instead of forum. There could be a forum topic per contest to discuss it though.

Again, I like the idea. I just don't want it to be overdone, or get spam/pointless contests. Maybe make a requirement of having Xander approve the contest.

I agree on both counts.. This sort of thing got really out of hand on NXTasy...

i think we should have a contest section but you need an approval from mightor first and only 3 contest at a time.

Or how about only
one contest at a time? The maximum number would then be the first natural number, and the minimum would be the whole number immediately below the maximum number.

Would that be contests on a physical location? Or would you, say… upload a video of your accomplishment?

AFAIK all forum competitions have been online only.
However, there are competitions held at specific physical locations as well. It seems that the main type for a gathered competition is the Sumo bots.

Other somewhat common contests are: line following and drag racing. These could be held in person, or submitted through videos.
