Trying to start up again

Post by spillerrec »

It have been so long since I last placed my feet her at Mindboards. More regrettably, I haven't done anything Lego related either for just as long and the 6wd vehicle I started on nearly 2 years ago is still sitting on my self, haunting me to do the finishing touches on it.

So I want to do something about this now. I have been given (several months ago) around 1000 DKK to use on Lego and I have been considering to get some PF parts. I'm thinking:
  • PF IR speed remote control (130 DKK)
  • 2 * PF XL-motors (200 DKK total)
  • 1 * PF M-motor (80 DKK, I have one already)
  • 4 * PF extension wire (120 DKK total), I have 4 RCX-NXT cables so I should be able to use PF with the NXT as well.
  • 1 or 2 PF IR receivers (150-300DKK)
That is 680-830 DKK, so I still have a bit more to spend.
I'm a bit unsure whether I should get 2 IR receivers instead of one, I feel like I'm probably not going to need it. I mainly want the wireless PF to make smaller Technics constructions where the NXT would be overkill after all.
Do you have any suggestions on what to spend the rest of the money on? (I can go up to 1500 DKK if needed.)

I would look at some pneumatics. I've been so busy with fixing up real cars that i haven't touched my lego tire test in about six months...
