Enchanting 0.0.4 just came out. Go here to start at that point in the conversation.
-----------------------------------
Greetings.
I've been at work on an alternative graphical programming environment, called Enchanting, to help children program their NXTs. It is still early, but here is a demonstration video:
The software works on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. It does require a working LeJOS installation.
I'd love to know what you think and would be thrilled to have help.

Wow, it looks great. I love how a lot of it is similar to normal text based languages, so you can learn names and layout, but it looks basic enough for almost anyone. Great job.

great job!
It reminds me somehow of the old RCX code. I anyway always found that far more intuitive and much more suitable for children than NXT-G .
Nice to see that you have closed the gap

The website for the project is http://enchanting.robotclub.ab.ca. It has a link to where you can download the project and instructions for getting things set up. I am especially interested in knowing if people have difficulty setting it up, as I think that step will be a bit much for young roboticists to do without help.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone!
