i'm doing a robot competition and need the robot to drive exact distances and turn exactly. one year i used NXT-G and couldn't even get it to drive straight. this year i used robotc and the driving is much better with the PID. but my question is what program would be the best for driving exact distances (WITHOUT sensors).

Odin can very accurately measure distances and angles. Probably not what you are looking for, but it's what I've spent the past couple of weeks getting to navigate very accurately.

to my experience it depends much more on the technical construction of the robot, the adhesion of the wheels on the ground, and the odometry calculation algorithm than on the programming language.
(for RCX I have been using LeJos, for NXT both RobotC and NXC so far)

edit:
1 condition nevertheless:
you will need floating point calculation and trigonometric functions (sin, cos, atan / atan2)
