MINDSTORMS Software Sub-Topics

Post by bungeshea »

Could we have subforums for the MINDSTORMS Software Forum? It has 308 topics and 2812 posts. It is hard to find stuff on it. eg. If you were trying to find topics related to NXT-G, you would have to filter through heaps of NXC, NBC and Lejos releated posts. Could we have one for NXT-G, one for NXC/NBC, and one for other? (like the NXT Step forums)

The idea has been discussed before, but it was decided that it would be too much work for the admins (particularly Xander). People more often that not would post stuff in the wrong place, and it would need to be moved. It is just a lot more simple to keep it how it is now, even if you do need to use the search to find things.

It was suggested that reference to the language be put in the title to assist in searches - good idea, I thought.
A sophistical rhetorician, inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity, and gifted with an egotistical imagination that can at all times command an interminable and inconsistent series of arguments to malign an opponent and to glorify himself.

I like the idea as well, but not many people would know or remember to do it.

There's only one problem with that:
Since the search tool can't tell the difference between [NXC] nxc and NXC
it says:
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: nxc.

For [NXT-G], nxt-g, NXT-G:
it says: No posts were found because the word nxt-g is not contained in any post.

How about TitleNXC or TNXC, and TitleNXTG or TNXTG? Looks terrible, I know. :)

I wonder if we could use Google...? Aha!

Unfortunately, Google has not indexed many pages.

I've submitted sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/mindboards/ for a crawl, but who knows when and if this'll happen?

Google's been crawling this site since it pretty much started:

It was here just a few hours ago as well.
