Lego CnC idea

Post by doc222 »

It is nice to have many subscribers at Utube. Many very good ideas. Today I seen this idea and its a jewel. Ever try make a Lego drill, virtical milling machine, lathe or even a Cnc? One mechanical issue you will find in all with Lego is ," how to get drill bit to work in Lego or cutting bits?" Well user pingpong 1785 has come up with a very cool and simple way to do this and still be all lego excepting the cutting bits.

An excellent idea! Glad someone found a solution to this problem. I wonder if that (or any LEGO) motor produces enough tourque to actually cut anything beyond foam though...

I think balsa wood with a very sharp bit as long as you never over feed it and bog the motor will work very nice. wear on the rotating parts though, better use alot of special greese on that or its going to melt. great project idea though. very cool the way that happens to work too as if Lego thought about it:)

Might be a bit heavy at the end of a cutting arm LOL. But yes it would give you more speed, but now you will need a alot of oil about. To bad I do not have enough parts to start a third project! I wont take X apart. I have that grader that needs parts ahhhhhh, never have enough Lego no matter how many you have . I think it is a plan by Lego to take over the world.
