How to synchronize a video with NXT movement?

I want to use my NXT to control a mirror which projects a video to the wall.
Basically, I need the NXT to know which frame is currently showing and move the mirror accordingly.
It's also fine if the control script can show JPG frame by frame because I don't need a high frame rate.
Any advice?
