Re: Best batteries for the NXT
what about buy an old Lego accu pack and plug in a charger? That's how I'm doing. Yes, if you have the money to spend, that's a great idea. I'd actually love to be able to buy a Lego LiPo cell and charger, but I don't want to spend ~$80 US just for an outlet powered NXT, especially since I already ...

Re: Mindstorms 3.0
Oh, I don't expect it to ever even sort-of run on the NXT. I was thinking more like if a newer mindstorm controller had an ARM9, ARM11, or Cortex processor. Oh but I sure do! Just think of it, we could have anti-virus programs just because, you know, with every good Microsoft OS comes a bevy of goo...

Re: What happened to Brian Davis?
His last port was in July 2010... not exactly recent. Actually, his last post was April 30th, 2011 [1] . Brian Davis is still quite involved in Mindstorms, but he does most of his interaction with the NXT community via consulting, mostly with students if I remember correctly. [1] Since I started re...

Re: Best batteries for the NXT
I need to work out a way to plug stationary machines in to the wall. Does any one have a good solution for that? If you're not afraid of a soldering iron, Philo has put together a really nice tutorial on creating a stationary power supply for the NXT. You do have to be careful you don't fry anythin...

Re: Mindstorms 3.0
Almost 100% OT, but does anyone know if it is true that "Windows 8" will be able to run on an ARM? I heard "it will run on most tablets because it will be based on the ARM structure ". Yes, Windows 8 will run on ARM processors, but just 'cause it does doesn't mean MS will support the NXT. The NXT c...

Re: New Technic "Mercedes Benz Unimog U400"
Very, very cool! This one is definitely on my wishlist, i.e. "I wish I could have it, but it's just not practical". I dunno, maybe I'll save some little kid from drowning at the beach and get a "substantial reward from overjoyed parents", or discover a cure for cancer and win the Nobel peace prize, ...

Re: Change rules
All 4 of the founders of this board have a hatred for animated avatars that burns with the heat of a thousand suns. That's why you don't mess with the Banhammer kids! http://www.blackborder.com/q/sites/default/files/images/The-Banhammer.jpg P.S. This is what Mr. Mighty Mightor looks like when angry...

Re: Change rules
I don't think swearing is a big problem. I've seen a couple posts with words that were offensive to me, but I used the report button and asked the admins to take care of it, and they usually did within 24 hours. I really don't like animated avatars either, but I do use an ad blocker, so it's not a b...

Haha, very funny. The only pets I have are some (usually) 20+ birds and they take care of combing themselves.mightor wrote:A very small hair brush for a pet hamster? You'll have to hot glue a small handle to the DIP package.
