I just ripped a motor apart and see something that looks a lot like a thermal fuse.

Note that is not the final production hardware, so the final hardware may look slightly different.

It's a Linux system, so network programming is totally possible. You'll have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself or port one of the many, many libraries out there to it.
