Re: Lego IR RC Roadster

You should also note that UMG, one of those disgusting music rights trolls, has blocked your video in some parts of the world, like Germany, because of your choice of music. They don't care about fair, non-commercial use. They blocked the first version of my most recent youTube video because I used ...

Re: Kemmel - Combining Line Following and Formula 1

I still working on whether this is in my algorithm, my parameters for steering correction, or if the NXT is just not fast enough when executing multiple tasks, and large diameter tires at high speed are covering a lot of distance. Any thoughts on this are appreciated. I've read mention of custom fi...

Re: Kemmel - Combining Line Following and Formula 1

I'd like to make a couple of suggestions for things that you could try in order to improve speed and performance. I would mount the color sensor on a "sweep" motor that could rapidly scan the black line and look for color markings without having to move the whole car back and forth. This would give ...

Re: a Lego joke worth while of an own topic: women's doll quota

With Knut's death and a few minor other things going on in the world, I would like to think that Spiegel.tv would find something else to report on. Sounds more like something for Stern.tv

Re: a Lego joke worth while of an own topic: Lego women's quota

I'd like to think that at least 50% of the Mindboards' members are female, but I hope that there are at least a dozen.

Building sets, Lego or otherwise used to be a typical male item. Has that changed?

Re: NXT RC rock crawler.

I've noticed that few if any of the newer official Lego vehicles that I've looked at use bricks. I also had my doubts that a brick design would survive the frequent head on collisions that is one of the main activities of my rover robots. But from what you've said and I've seen from other designs, i...

Re: NXT RC rock crawler.

I noticed that you build your rock crawler using bricks rather than liftarms. How do the two methods compare in terms of ease of construction, cost, robustness, stiffness, coolness, etc?

Could you show some more details of the steering mechanism?

Re: Looking for an advanced motor control tutorial

Then maybe it's time for me to install 1.31.

Please tell me that doing this is a no brainer that even I can do and that all my fears about being left with a "softly ticking brick" are entirely unfounded.

Re: Looking for an advanced motor control tutorial

By latest firmware, do you mean John's FW?

Do you notice a significant speed increase when you set PosRegSetMax (OUT_A, 0, 0)?

Do you notice an accuracy improvement with SetMotorRegulationTime( 10 )?

In any case, thanks for the info. (Add thanks again for the BrickLink hint.)
