Re: Setting up DI Wifi Sensor --Problems

I am not convinced that the problems you both are encountering are not user-error. For one thing, trying to execute listener.nxc when you don't understand what it is supposed to do or how it works is a recipe for disaster. For another thing, if the latest compiler and firmware work just fine to tal...

Re: Setting up DI Wifi Sensor --Problems

Yeah, I've been seeing the same things. I can't get my NXC programs, or Mark's programs to work. I am in contact with John from Dexter Industries in regard to the issue. Even issuing the +++ command doesn't get a response when an NXC NXT sends it. Hi Matt! Could you post your NXC code for me to com...

Re: pob-eye2, CMUcam3 or blackfin for lego nxt interfacing

What you need is RoboRealm ( http://www.roborealm.com/ ). It allows you to do absolutely everything you outlined above, interfaces to multiple cameras *and* also will talk to the NXT. The documentation and tutorials on the RoboRealm site are very thorough, and almost constitute a machine-vision cour...

Re: Pointers in NXC

Doc, A standard homework in any operating-systems class is to implement a dynamic memory manager for an OS given a large fixed size array of bytes (also known as RAM). There are also quite a few examples of dynamic memory management libraries for embedded or real-time systems on the internet. I don'...

Re: Pointers in NXC

So let's take a step back and ask: what exactly is the problem you are trying to solve? Do you need to manage dynamic data? Why are you sure that you need pointers and malloc/free? Think about it: you can actually implement your own equivalent malloc/free/pointer concept in NXC by allocating a large...

Strange fseek behaviour in NXC

Hi John, I've been experimenting with the fseek and ftell functions. Now according to the NXC documentation guide ftell will always return -1. However when I test the fseek() function after creating a file to move the file cursor to the end of the file I get an error 0x9300 - LDR_ILLEGALHANDLE. Does...

Re: What are linear files in NXC?

Hi John, I think the files are being closed correct, so it must be something to do with non-standard extensions for linear files. An interesting corner-case but not something serious. As for fseek/ftell - well this will give you a laugh: I was writing some file I/O tutorials and grumbling that there...

Re: What are linear files in NXC?

Hi Doc, I read the "linear" name in the NXC API documentation, in the NXCDefs.h file and in the official LEGO Executable File specification document. Hence my curiousity. It is an official LEGO term, not one I or John made up. Linear is a good choice of word here - the FLASH disk sectors ha...

Re: What are linear files in NXC?

Thanks John, I suspected it was something like that. I was wondering if linear files had any performance advantage over "regular" files, or indeed if they had a performance disadvantage. I suppose some experiments are in order!

Re: Convert *.rxe files

All is not lost however, because you can use the NXC compiler to decompile the .rxe file into the opcodes used by the NXT using the -x option to nbc. Alternatively John has provided RXEDumper on his website http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/utilities.html that will decompile an rxe file. It will not gi...
