Robot Arm using EV3 Home kit
I thought I would quickly share my Robot Arm inspired by the EV3 Education EV3_Arm. The home kit is missing the Turn table and a few other key parts in the gripper so I built around it. This is using only EV3 Home parts and nothing from my other Mindstorms or Technic kits. There are improvements tha...

NXT-G check Display pixel on/off
Is there a way I'm not seeing to scan the NXT screen to check each pixel on each row if it is on or off? I'm tinkering some with a plotter Idea and would like to plot the points to paper that I see on the screen.

Re: BricxCC EV3 download program
Didn't BricxCC create executable for the NXT? I'm not up to speed with the EV3 differences. I just received mine last week from my wife for our anniversary. I am not a huge fan of the new Lego software feels real stripped down even from the NXT-G software. I liked/ was used to the function blocks in...

BricxCC EV3 download program
Where does the program go? Sure I ran the Test program and all ran as expected but the program does not appear on the EV3 screen to run again. Also when I explore the EV3 from BCC the Test.c is there. When I cycle the power the program is gone.

The code will never be DONE because there always seems to be something to improve it.

Re: Fast, Simple Menu Maker #include
Great chunk of code. I have been testing some menus of my own and would love to give it a go. I have one thing to offer. Maybe add the instructions to the code. That way if I use it again 6 months from now I don't have to come find this post.

Re: Starting from Scratch
I'm mentoring 8 kids ages 10-12, I only have two NXTs with parts equal to NXT 1.0-2.0 and Education with extension. Group size is pushing the limit I could see 2 kids to 1 NXT being a great ratio. What I do is have the kids start off with the basic car type robot have them program it to drive in a c...

Re: Rotation Sensor, Marker Pulse?
Thank You, Matt I have done just that with another project some time ago but thought I could add another layer of accuracy and repeat-ability by then indexing to Marker Pulse after the switch is made/released. Maybe I'm just being to picky, never going to get pass the backlash of the LEGO

Re: NXC, LEJOS, ROBOTC software and EV3 compatibility?
Everyone here is talking far beyond my tech level. But I must comment. Didn't Lego them self claim this system to be very hack able. They want YOU to create the hi end open source tools for me the techie user. I'm only a 10 month user of Mindstorms liked the NXT-G for about and hour then after seein...
