Re: NXC: RotateMotorEx issue

Although I'm no expert, I spent a fair bit of time trying to figure out what the turnpct means in RotateMotorEx without much luck. I finally gave up on it completely when I found out that even with values of 100 or -100, it couldn't keep the motors in sync. But at least just found out that there is ...

Re: Line Follower Help (car steering - not skid steering) w/ PID

Yes, it can be done. Here are a few random links: Our "Indy" racing event - not really car-steering: Big Rig - one of my favorite: Two robots, one with front-steering And, a pretty fast front-steer robot Steve Those were very impressive videos. Could you provide some additional informatio...

Re: LEGO Color Sensor RGB raw/scaled vs ColorRed mode [NXC]

If you go to the Stonehenge 3 topic under "Mindstorms projects", you can down load some software which contains an example of how to quickly get and use the RBG values from the color sensor. The routine is called "getColor". Although this version of the code turns the color senso...

Re: Line Follower Help (car steering - not skid steering) w/ PID

Although PID controllers are very useful for dealing with lag-less, linear problems, following the edge of a line with a fixed color sensor is not one of these problems. A color sensor can only deliver a linear response to an edge over only a very narrow range which is much to small to be quickly tr...

poor search function

Am I the only one having trouble with this sites search function?

Why can I search for "rate", but not "gyro" for example.

Re: Yaw Rate Sensor

This should do the job for you: https://www.hitechnic.com/cgi-bin/comme ... ey=NGY1044

You can also order it (or something very similar) directly from lego.

Does anyone know if the Lego and the Hitechnic gyros are the same?

Re: LEGO Digital Designer

I finally took the time to learn LDD. It was well worth the effort. After watching the tutorials and about an hour of practice, I can now make a LDD model about as quickly as I can build a real model. Although it's not perfect, except for an initial speed bump, it's surprisingly easy to use. The onl...

Re: I'll show you mine if you show me yours

But your robot looks like a fair amount of weight is on the caster, does it work ok? Andy Good observation. I read some where that there should be only about 25% of the weight on the caster, but I have closer to 30%. Nevertheless, it seems to drive OK. However, the excess weight could make the odom...

I'll show you mine if you show me yours

Like my fellow followers of this forum, I love to look over robot designs. Although "grand" designs (like biped and rock crawler) are awe inspiring, I find more modest designs are actually a better source of inspiration for future projects. So in order to motivate you to present your desig...
